昨年リリースされた2枚のCDrアルバム『Morning Dew』『Last Night』 (High Fader RECORDS) がロングセラーとなっている東京を中心に活動するayaのソロ・ユニット=fraqsea（フラクシー）。その『Morning Dew』の冒頭を飾るフォークトロニカ名曲「Sparrow」のリミックスEPがSoundCloudにてフリー配信スタート。

初のリミックスとなるDearie（ディアリー）とFastcutからアルバム『A New Day』を2010年にリリースしたスウェーデンのデュオ、Kuryakin（クリアキン）による2リミックス。淡い電子音とピアノやストリングス、アコギのカットアップが原曲のメロディを一層感動的に彩ったDearie リミックス、ポスト・ダブステップ的な間を持たせたビート・プログラミング上でSarah Recordsの名バンド、Blueboy「Clearer」を彷彿とさせるバレアリック・ギターが空を舞うスローモーションなKuryakinリミッ クス。対照的なアレンジでありながら、共にfraqseaのヴォーカルを際立たせた素晴らしい仕上がり。Fastcut Recordsからこの2リミックスを収録した限定7インチが今秋にリリース予定。

fraqsea is a solo unit by aya who performs mainly in Tokyo and released two long-selling CD-R albums called “Morning Dew” and “Last Night” from High Fader RECORDS in 2011. Free remix EP of the folktronic masterpiece “Sparrow”, the phenomenal first song on “Morning Dew”, has been released on SoundCloud.

The EP contains two different remix versions by Dearie, a Japanese creator for whom this has been the first remix, and by Kuryakin, the Swedish duo who released the album “A New Day” from Fastcut in 2010. The remix by Dearie is characterised by powerful and moving melody lines complemented by electronic sound effects, piano and strings, as well as acoustic guitar cut-ups, while the remix by Kuryakin features post-dubstep beats with Balearic guitar sounds which would remind its listeners of the famous Sarah Records band Blueboy’s “Clearer”. While contrasting with each other in their arrangements, both successfully deliver gorgeous melody lines. 7inch (limited edition) containing these two remix versions is to be released by Fastcut Records this autumn.
